Technical Solutions Architect (TSA) Cloud Infrastructure and Software (old Data Center)

NterOne seeks a Technical Solutions Architect for our Professional Services Team to lead in designing and implementing Cisco Solutions.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated and brings the industry, business, and technical skills necessary to work effectively with customers and internal team members.  

The Architect will be responsible for providing technical expertise for developing the GTM enablement strategy for Cisco’s Solutions.  The candidate must have demonstrated expertise with Cisco’s Cloud Infrastructure and Software Solutions such as:

  • Cisco Nexus Networking platform and Cisco Nexus Dashboard

  • Cisco ACI

  • Cisco UCS platform and Intersight Cloud Management

  • Cisco Hyperconverged infrastructure

  • Cisco Software Defined Storage

Knowledge of competitive products is also recommended with this position. Other Cisco architectural knowledge such as; Security, Enterprise Networking, IoT, are a plus.

The Architect will provide a consultative approach to understanding customer / partner technical requirements including an advanced knowledge of the overall competitive landscape. The Architect will work with stakeholders to understand the solution requirements, create the design, develop, and lead in executing the implementation strategy with the customer.  

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate mastery in these key responsibilities and competencies:

  • Be able to lead in the discovery of the customer’s business requirements and map them to a technical solution.
  • Proven deployment experience in Data Center and any of the following Cisco Architecture areas:  Enterprise Networking, Security, IoT, and Software.

  • Be able to lead technical workshops, test drives, and demos with a goal of educating and driving service sales.

  • Expertise with Solution selling to Enterprise and Corporate Line-of-Business as well as to traditional IT buying centers.    

  • Articulate the unique value of Cisco Solutions by itself or within a full multi-vendor solution.    

  • Have a base knowledge of Programmability and DevOps and Cisco API’s, Controllers, and SDK’s.

  • Maintain collaborative relationships with the Sales Teams and Technical Teams to drive services.      

  • Ensure the architectural impact and capabilities of Cisco Solutions are understood and valued.        

  • Seek out opportunities to partner with and mentor less-experienced teammates and to share best practices to help strengthen the team’s capabilities.      

  • Lead in developing the team's knowledge of Cisco Solution selling concepts.

Director of Engineering and Development – Data Center

Job Duties: Responsible for designing, planning, implementing and operating Data Center, Network, and telecommunications infrastructure to support company business units, especially Training Services, Professional (Consulting) Services, and Software Services. Lead and support teams to deliver and maintain mission-critical hardware, software, and services. Supervise task force working around the clock in Europe, Asia, Canada, US, and Latin American countries. Directly interact with directors of the business units to understand their needs and make sure data centers provide the requested services with agility and efficiency. Develop labs and demos for new technologies, understanding and providing the resources for them and making sure they meet the high-quality standards. Resource planning, by weekly assigning people and resources to activities, projects, etc. Evaluate and establish priorities for concurrent and sometimes conflicting requests from business units and assign shared resources accordingly. Manage internal communication with team members, instructors, developers, testers, other business units, management team, and end customers. Plan and execute processes and procedures to build new labs or increase capacity of existing ones. Detect and fix issues or errors in lab documents. Manage instructor and end customers' complaints. Perform lab reset and provide technical support. Monitor progress activities and take corrective actions when deviations exist. Detect needs for new employees with specific skillset, define profile, interview candidates, select and hire. Detect needs for new equipment, software, and services, specify, send requests for quotes, select, approve, and buy.

In some projects, this TSA role may be required to supervise large groups of engineers.

Domestic and international travel required to attend business needs.


Job Requirements: Bachelor’s (or foreign equivalent) degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related and 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in the Job offered, or as a Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Network Manager or related. Cisco System Instructor certification (CCSI) and Cisco System professional certifications (CCNP level) required. Some work experience required with 1) Defining and using metrics and Key Performance Indicators for Lab Support and Data Center Operations. 2) Interacting with external contractors and negotiating service scope/pricing. 3) Scaling-out and automating labs based on scripting, ANSIBLE, APIs and Cisco Lab Automation System (LAS) or similar. 4) Virtualizing computer and network infrastructure using technologies from different vendors including Cisco Systems and VMware.

Job Description:

Candidates must have an appreciation for teaching and learning and the ability and desire to keep up with current technologies. The objective of this full-time position is to deliver technical training classes as well as work on consulting projects in deployment of solutions, and development of course content, including labs. The role may involve some travel to client sites across the Americas, Europe, and Asia as much as 2 times per month.

The role may involve some travel to our Canadian data center, no more than 4 times per year.

  • Support labs related to 1-5 day training classes via email, chat, and phone.

  • Assign tester for labs with recurring reports for similar issues and make sure the setup and documents are corrected.
  • Control versioning and archive of labs documents in company or cloud repositories, for new or updated labs, making sure team members, instructors, developers, testers and ends users work with latest and correct version.
  • Manage instructor and end customers complains.
  • Monitor in progress activities and take corrective actions when deviations exist.
  • Build internal team capabilities by knowledge transfer, on the job training, sharing tasks for learning, formal training, etc.
  • Detect needs for new personal with specific skillset, define profile, interview candidates, select and hire.
  • Detect needs for new equipment, software and services, specify, send request for quote, select, approve, and buy.
  • Interact with power and HVAC contractor for regular maintenance, corrective actions during failure and new requests for services.
  • Manage team members permissions, vacations, shifts, bonus, complains, etc.
  • Participate in weekly meetings for:
    • Resource planning (instructors, tech support engineers, lab tester, lab developers, content developers).
    • Class Development committee (adding new projects, checking status of ongoing projects, prioritizing projects).
    • Follow up for every development project in progress.
    • Follow up for Metrics and Key performance indicators for previous week classes.
    • Follow up for assigning resources to existing or new development projects (infrastructure, servers, networking, storage, pods, racks, equipment).
    • Capacity planning by comparing demand versus resources availability for 2-3 weeks ahead.
    • Upcoming week operational planning (explain and discussing with team members the assignment of resources to every activity for upcoming week)
